Testing the Screen-Sharing Feature

The screen-sharing feature will be available in the ongoing call navigation bar as a new icon but will only work on the Android version or later. Users will have to provide permission to use this feature before sharing their screen with others. They will also have the option to start and stop the feature as per their convenience. However, WhatsApp has not specified any limit on the size of the group video call for the feature to work on.

Other Changes to WhatsApp’s Android App

Along with the new screen-sharing feature, WhatsApp’s Android app is going through a visual overhaul. The platform is rumored to introduce a redesigned bottom navigation bar arrangement for Android, which includes Chats, Calls, Communities, and Status. Previously, the order in iOS was Status, Calls, Communities, Chats, and Settings. WhatsApp is also testing a new message context menu, as well as a redesigned Settings page, which will feature new shortcuts and rearranged options.

Future Updates

As this feature is currently in beta testing, WhatsApp has not yet revealed when these changes will go live for users.
