Diablo IV: Saviors Wanted Trailer Released

Diablo IV, the highly-anticipated video game from Blizzard Entertainment, has unveiled its latest trailer, featuring a cast of troubled heroes fighting to save the lands of the Sanctuary. Dubbed ‘Saviors Wanted,’ the live-action campaign was directed by Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao and co-directed by Kiku Ohe. The trailer explores the game’s dark and imaginative world, where monsters roam free and the High Heavens and Burning Hells clash in a destructive battle.

Tour of Tragedy

The live-action trailer highlights the tragedy that has befallen the lands of Sanctuary. The trailer opens with an aged man mourning the loss of horses in the icy tundras. This is followed by other acts of desperation from unfortunate souls caught in the middle of the war between Heaven and Hell. The heroes featured in the trailer are the five classes in Diablo IV, namely the Barbarian, Sorcerer, Druid, Rogue, and the new Necromancer. The trailer ends with a shot of Lilith, the Queen of the Succubi, waging war against her bitter enemy angel Inarius and ruling over Sanctuary once more.

Chloe Zhao Brings Imaginative World to Life

Chloe Zhao worked closely with Blizzard to bring Diablo IV’s imaginative world to life. In a prepared statement, she said, “Diablo fans are very passionate, and many have been with the game for over two decades. We want to do right by the fans, honor the game’s rich lore and visceral world-building while evoking the strong emotions the players feel while immersing in the game.”

Diablo IV’s Endgame Progression

Blizzard Entertainment detailed Diablo IV’s endgame progression, showcasing how they plan to keep players hooked for hundreds of hours after the main story is complete. The progression begins with a Capstone Dungeon where players can do repeated runs in rising difficulties to collect various types of loot and continue getting stronger. The game also features Nightmare Dungeons letting players pick one out of 120+ dungeons in the Sanctuary and turn it into a harsher playfield. The dungeons can be activated by finding a Nightmare Sigil, which adds difficult objectives, increased enemy count, and portals that pour out monsters from other realms.
